French is an interesting language to learn.

A little precision about numbers: soixante-quatorze is said in France. In Belgium, we say septante-quatre (70 + 4). We say quatre-vingts for 80 too but in Switzerland they said octante (some cantons say huitante). Idem for 90 : in France they say quatre-vingt-dix but in Belgium we say nonante.

French is a world language not only because it was a diplomatic language before English but also because of colonization ; Canada was a French colony before UK took it from the Seven Years War, there were a lot of French colonies in the northern half of Africa and France had also a colony in Asia called Indochina that split into Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

Another tip ? We have a special third singular pronoun called "on". It is like "we" but in singular and it is used to speak about people imprecisely. Example : On a décidé de faire ceci => We decided to do this but we is not clear (who is "on" to force us to not use this pronoun).
